Vice President: Kris Olson

The Vice-President shall assist the President in all committee activities and shall preside
at meetings in the President's absence. The Vice-President will coordinate, research, and
submit all grant applications and pursue corporate matching programs. The Vice
President shall cultivate relationships with vendors, rescue groups, humane societies,
and pet supply stores, among other dog-friendly organizations. The Vice-President shall
ensure that ODPA goals are articulated to donors and members in a clear, approachable
fashion. The Vice-President shall serve a two (2) year term.


Volunteer Coordinator: Jan Sloma

The Committee Chairperson is responsible for soliciting and retaining motivated and
effective volunteers. The committee chairperson shall ensure ODPA events have
enough volunteers to effectively manage each event and will be responsible for
ensuring all required materials (e.g., tables, tent, fliers, or handouts) are at any and all
ODPA events. As committee chairperson it is his/her responsibility to delegate
responsibilities to committee members, seek advice, guidance and help from ODPA
officers and ensure the committee’s obligations are met. Committee Chairpersons shall
serve 1 year terms.


Special Events : Cheryl Wilson

The Committee Chairperson is responsible for planning fundraising and community
service activities on behalf of ODPA. Two annual fundraisers that fall under the
responsibility of this committee are Spring Bark in the Park and Wage-N-Wine. Additional
fundraisers are at the discretion of the committee with the approval of the Executive
Committee. In addition to ODPA fundraisers this committee is also responsible for ensure
ODPA has a presence at other public events in and around Omaha. Some events are (but
not limited to) Nebraska Humane Society’s Walk-for-the-Animals, Caws for Paws, Nebraska
Kennel Club. As committee chairperson it is his/her responsibility to delegate
responsibilities to committee members, seek advice, guidance and help from ODPA
officers and ensure the committee’s obligations are met. Committee Chairpersons shall
serve 1 year terms.


Public Relations/Communications
Brian Glowen

The Committee Chairperson is responsible for ensuring that the public is made aware of
ODPA activities, maintaining the web-site, updating the message board(s) at the park,
issuing ODPA news letters and ensure that ODPA’s message is clearly and effective
communicated to all of Omaha and its surrounding areas. As committee chairperson it is
his/her responsibility to delegate responsibilities to committee members, seek advice,
guidance and help from ODPA officers and ensure the committee’s obligations are met.
Committee Chairpersons shall serve 1 year terms.

Secretary

The Secretary shall organize and collect all meeting information, organization
information, files and important records. The Secretary is responsible for meeting
minutes for both the General Public and Executive Committee meetings. In the event that
the Secretary cannot attend an Executive Committee or General Public meeting, he/she
is required to notify the Vice-President so that the Vice-President can handle the
Secretarial duties for that meeting. The Secretary shall preside at meetings in the
President and Vice President's absence. The Secretary shall send meeting minutes to the
Executive Committee via email for approval within forty-eight (48) hours of the meeting
date, the Executive Committee shall have forty-eight (48) hours to approve/dispute the
minutes. The Secretary shall then ensure the approved minutes are posted to the ODPA
website. The Secretary shall maintain the membership directory and know which
members are in good standing. In addition he/she shall maintain a list of media contacts,
and pursue announcements and press releases in all media types. The Secretary shall
keep ODPA files, including any charter or Bylaws and shall see that each member of the
Executive Committee receives a copy of the Bylaws. The Secretary shall serve a two (2)
year term.
